I wonder where we got the A-Line skirt from....?

Basics Instinct

Johan Lindeberg's hip basics.

July 2011
After 20 years in the industry, as CEO of Diesel North America and creative director of J. Lindeberg and William Rast, Johan Lindeberg has finally figured out what he wants: 100 percent freedom. And with the launch of BLK DNM, his line of simple, well-made basics, he has achieved just that. “I’m following my personal tastes,” he says. “And that’s all I can do now as a designer.” It’s a philosophy that seems to be working. Taking cues from downtown New York—where Lindeberg lives and has just opened the label’s first shop—his debut collection is rife with the sort of unfussy pieces that the below–14th Street crowd wants to wear: slim-cut cashmere sweaters, lambskin motorcycle jackets, silk blouses, and slightly high-waisted jeans. Filling out the line are a musky unisex fragrance, sunglasses done in collaboration with Moscot, and a culture magazine called BLK DNM Gazette. Shoes and bags are to come. “Someone called me the Tom Ford of downtown,” says Lindeberg with a laugh, referring to the speed with which he has built a full-fledged brand.“It’s just the manifestation of what I’ve been thinking about my whole career” (blkdnm.com).

Ren & Stimpy

Thanks for the article from Adrian Waller

Ren and Stimpy was one of the greatest adult cartoons to ever air on television. I was given a DVD of this show for my birthday, and I love to view it on my satellite tv with old friends.(http://www.expertsatellite.com!) We laugh so much at old episodes of this show, because we were in college when it came out. We simply love every part of this show and think it is one of the best ever. It is such a great show and I love it so much.

The humor of this show borders on the controversial. I am always so surprised this show could air for as long as it did, given its crazy and controversial content. This show seriously had some of the most irreverent humor of the 1990s and the writers were wholly unapologetic for it. There is nothing I love more than watching Ren and Stimpy and picking out the bits that I missed when I was younger. I understand so much of this show more now, which makes it so much more enjoyable to watch. I truly love this show and I think it is one of the best ones that any young adult can watch for some great and classic humor. This is the sort of show that can keep a person laughing for hours on end. I truly think this show rocks.
